Germany reneging on Kyoto agreement. Any opinions?
The USA, the world's largest greenhouse gas polluter, withdrew from the Kyoto reduction treaty in 2001. Now, after having received dispensation previously for industry, Germany are announcing that they will not be able to meet the agreed levels, and are looking at a mere 0.6% reduction. The rest of the EU is aghast at what appears to be a win for German business and industry over common sense. The reductions agreed upon by the treaty are not even close to being met, and it also appears that the UK and Germany, among others, have been lying about their emissions (the UKs emissions of methane are apparently 92% higher than declared!). China also declared reductions from 911 to 757 million tons between 1996 and 2000, but estimates for 2004
just issued are 1,200 million tons. I know it's a bloody long winded question, but any thoughts?

Space Available, Reptile Wanted, help?
I will be making a large greenhouse off of our living room. It will be 20x16' and seperated into a few different parts. A 16x5' area will be for my two turtles, a western painted and a RES, a 7x8' area will be for my water dragon(with a 'dragon door' into the livingroom so he can be with us in a 4x5' cage), a 16x6' area will be for my russian torts(4 by then, 2 right now), and I will have a space that I would like to build a 3x4x?' cage for an interesting reptile.
I love reptiles to death, and would like a suggestion on what interesting, pet reptile would love a cage that size for life. I was thinking a pair of chameleons, but I hear they are hard to care for. Any suggestions would be nice.
I am not doing this for a "look at what I have" status, I am doing this because my fiance is allergic to pet fur and I cant live without pets of sorts, and fish just cant cut it anymore ^.^ So please dont burn me as "one of those people" who only get reptiles to let others look.
Thanks so much.
Oh, the turtle area will be a 1832 gallon pond... I cant wait because I love ponds and by then both of them will be less interested in fish so I can keep some Koi. We have two 2000gal pond filters to place in the pond, so cleanliness will not be a problem. ^.^
