Can I still start a garden even though it's already August?
My boyfriend moved into a new apt recently and he has a small backyard with 2 small gardening plots. I just looked at it, and whoever lived here before did some gardening, and I found a raspberry plant with raspberries ripe on it. But there are also a lot of weeds, and random flowers, etc. The soil looks pretty rough. I really want to turn it into a garden. I was thinking some peppers, tomatoes, raspberries, some herbs, etc. So, my question is- a) is it still possible for me to start a garden this late into the summer? I live in MT. Weather changes pretty fast. I was sort of thinking I could get some greenhouse tents when it gets colder and maybe heat lamps? b) how do I start? I know I will need to weed out everything but I'm not really sure if there's a good method for that or if I should just get gloves and start pulling. I also feel like I need to put new soil in but maybe that's not necessary? c) what would be good plants/herbs to plant at this time of year in MT?
